Ads & sponsored
Quiet down ads and sponsored posts in your feed
SanityMode doesn't replace your ad-blocker. It calms the ads that get through — desaturating them, removing motion and hiding 'sponsored' posts inline in your feeds.
The pattern
- Every fourth post in your timeline is a flashing carousel.
- Sponsored 'recommendations' look identical to the real posts.
- Your ad-blocker catches most of them and the rest still feel loud.
What SanityMode does
Inline ads desaturated
Sponsored posts that survive your ad-blocker get a quiet grayscale treatment. They're still there; they just stop flashing.
Motion frozen
Animated banner ads and looping product GIFs freeze on first paint. The page stops moving.
Sponsored chips called out
Native ads that look like normal posts get a clear 'Sponsored' label so you don't mistake them for content.
FAQ
- Do I still need an ad-blocker?
- Yes, if you want network-level blocking. SanityMode is about how the remaining ads feel, not network filtering.
- Will sites break?
- No. SanityMode never strips ads from the DOM — it only restyles them. Pages render exactly as before, just calmer.
- Does it affect creator sponsorships in videos?
- No. In-video sponsor segments are untouched. Only on-page ads are restyled.
